Learning Experiences

We believe design begins with internal changes.

To shape the world outside, we shape the world inside through bespoke learning experiences.

Ritual Repair

Through the act of weaving, what once represented loss is transmuted

into a wish, hope, or prayer for healing.

Ritual Repair is an opportunity for people to transform personal materials that represent an old version of themselves—like used clothing, letters or jewelry—and add this to a collective tapestry. By learning basic tapestry weaving techniques, personal materials are transformed into threads and transmuted into a wish, hope, or prayer for healing. Workshop participation takes approximately 30 minutes but participants can choose to work for longer during a daylong presentation. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Grammar of Grief

Loss is a normal part of lived experience. Memorials to our losses are typically thought of as stone structures rising above eye level in a public square. Grammar of Grief reimagines memorial as a set of intimate performance practices which can be done at home and come out of our bodies' unique relationship to the grief in our lives.

Workshop participants will develop their own Grammar of Grief performances through writing and movement exercises with objects from their homes. The mini workshop is 3 hours and intensive is 5 days. Participants will then take images or video of their memorial performances which will culminate in a group contributions to the Grammar of Grief Handbook - a living online resource for people seeking performance practices which can help them work through the losses in their lives.
